Health Care Reform (HCR) - Helpful Documents & Information
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) was enacted and signed in March 2010 and officially begins on/after September 23, 2010. Many carriers have already put in place some of the requirements required in 2010. Every individual and business in the U.S. will be affected by the new laws provisions.
The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act overhauls the health care environment in the U.S. The new law places new responsibilities on employers that, over time, may well change the nature of employer-provided health care. Employers choosing not to offer their employees qualifying coverage will pay an additional tax to help finance their employees health care. There are many key provisions of the law that may affect your business.
PPACA is not specific on many requirements and has assigned the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) to establish the specific rules. The Department of Labor (DOL) will also have input and the IRS will be the enforcer. Because most of these rules are yet to be established and will be clarified over the next 4 years, Dunn Insurance Inc. has established a section on our website to keep our clients updated on current requirements as well as future requirements. Let our professionals be your guide to understanding HEALTHCARE REFORM.
