Gallatin Nazarene Weekly Update November 16, 2010

The Holidays have begun!
Our Weekend was busy and exciting but the outcome was fantastic. Saturday afternoon your church choir went to Barnes and Noble in Hendersonville and performed from 2-3PM. I say performed, we worshipped. There was a great turn out and you should definitely be proud of how your family was represented.
Sunday was a beautiful day with the family of God. Dr. Talmadge Johnson was our guest in our morning services and gave a stirring sermon to us on God Remembering Noah. Are you living, listening, and loving in a way that gets our Lords attention?
Last night was our Fall Family Feast and a feast it was. Well over 200 folks came together in our Family Life Center around the table. The food was delicious but it does not compare to the sights and sounds of family being the family of God. A big thanks goes out to more folks than I will remember but especially to JoeAnn Little (decorations), Roger and Debbie Holland (pumpkins), Margie Carters crew (serving table set up), Fireside Class (cooking the turkeys), and everyone who pitched in to clean. It was a huge success and officially marks the start of The Season.

This Sunday Night Company is Coming.
This Sunday night we have the honor of hosting this years Thanksgiving service. St. Luke AME Church will provide the music and Rev. Kyle Gott, from Gallatin First Presbyterian, will be preaching. We need to make sure we have all our bases covered as the host church. 1) We need everyone to take advantage of our distance parking at Farm Bureau and on the far side of our buildings. 2) We will need extra nursery workers for this event. We want to make sure we can handle whatever crowd comes this year. 3) Lets prepare now to be extra friendly and helpful to our guests. The service will begin at 6 PM.

Gods Direction Prayer Time
DONT FORGET!!!! We are still having a special time of prayer in our sanctuary for Gods direction in this time of transition. We are seeing God do great things in our services and I know the Word is touching your life as it is mine. This is a great time to get away and in the stillness of the evening listen for Gods direction. Every Tuesday from 5-6PM

Operation Christmas Child
Each year we participate in a heart warming ministry called Operation Christmas Child. This is a ministry Franklin Graham heads up where individuals pack a shoebox with gifts for a child and they distribute these boxes around the world at Christmas. This is a wonderful way to kick off your Christmas season and get your entire family in the true spirit of Christmas; GIVING! Please pick up a flyer about the boxes and how to pack them in the Welcome Center. Completed boxes must be at the church no later than November 21st!

Next summer our church will be taking a Work and Witness group to Manchester England to help out at the Nazarene Theological College. Exact dates and costs will be announced very soon. Fundraising will begin and passports need to be acquired quickly. Anyone interested in going should contact Barbara Fox.
