"Treatment rooms feature wireless headphones and televisions, so bring your favorite DVD or CD to enjoy during dental treatment. After your visit, you may want to freshen up with a bottled water and warm towel. We will do whatever it takes to make you feel comfortable and confident in our office, so if you have special requests, please let us know.
Your First Appointment
At your initial appointment, Dr. Lindahl will examine each of your teeth, your bite, jaw joints, and soft tissues for periodontal disease or oral cancer. Digital photographs may be taken to make diagnosis and cosmetic imaging possible for optimal patient input. The comprehensive exam, X-rays and photographs will be done on the first visit to become established in the practice, at which time the first hygiene appointment will be scheduled. We will also talk with you about your smile goals and concerns, such as bad breath, snoring, crooked teeth, tooth pain, dental fear, or options for tooth replacement. Your digital X-rays and intraoral photographs will be displayed on a convenient chairside monitor so that you and Dr. Lindahl can review them together. If he detects areas of concern, he will present treatment options. Dr. Lindahl wants to be able to take the time to be thorough and to get to know you and your mouth. There is such a wide range in the levels of dental health among adults which makes it difficult to know how much time to schedule with the hygienist. We will also take time to answer your questions and provide the information you need to make informed decisions with complete peace of mind.
