Who would have believed it? What God has done in this place these past thirteen years is nothing short of amazing. As we think back over the history of our church, we can truly say that all that has happened is beyond our imagination. God has done so much in a short period of time.
Today we express our gratitude to our great God for all that He has done for us. Yes, we thank Him for the provision of the new building, but it is so much more than that. We thank Him for the beginning days of the church. We thank Him for the people who have labored among us. We thank Him for the souls saved and lives changed as a result of the ministry here. There is so much for which we have to be thankful. We must also thank Him for what is to come. Great days are ahead. Let’s praise the Lord together for the great things He has done for us!
Beginning Sunday morning, November 28, we will have one Sunday School and one worship service. Our window of opportunity for everyone worshipping together on Sunday mornings is very small. We want to take advantage of that time to meet together in one service. Please understand that this will be a temporary arrangement In just a few months, our sanctuary will not be able to accommodate everyone in one service. I believe that it will be worth it for us to spend whatever time we can in one service. I will be counting on you to make the necessary adjustments to make room for anyone who wants to attend Covenant. Let’s enjoy being together no matter how long we are able to do it. Let’s be ready to do whatever it takes to make a place for those who want to worship with us.
Veteran’s Day gives us the opportunity to remember and recognize the brave men and women who have served their country. Well we should! I do not believe that we would enjoy the freedoms that we have today if not for those who were willing to sacrice so much for us. Covenant has a large number of veterans among her membership. Thank you so much for your service to our great country.
I will be taking a few days of vacation next week. Please pray for me while I am away. Next Sunday, Dr. Gray Allison will bring God’s Word. You will be blessed as this great man of God proclaims the riches of God’s grace. I hope you will be in your place next Lord’s Day. I will be back in the ofce next Monday. I am already looking forward to sharing a Christmas series from the book of Ruth. It begins on November 28. I love being your pastor!
