Flagpole To Be Dedicated

A special ceremony will be held Thursday, November 11 at 3:00 p.m. at the Veterans Museum in Palmer. A flagpole will be dedicated in the memory of Robert Meeks who, in addition to serving in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, served the people of Grundy County in several law enforcement positions, including eleven years as sheriff. He made the decision to resign that office only when his health deteriorated to a point that made it impossible for him to serve the best interests of the people who elected him.
