Since opening in 1997, the motto "Education is the Beginning of Success" laid the foundation on which the Massage Institute of Cleveland incorporates its standards of excellence. Family owned and operated, the institute, formerly the East Tennessee School of Massage Therapy, is the oldest continuously operating massage therapy school in East Tennessee.
Students from all backgrounds and varying educational levels enroll in pursuit of changing or starting their career path, continuing their expertise in the health and services field, or to gain knowledge in order to open their own business.
Day and night classes are offered each term and are kept small to "unsure personalized attention from our excellent instructors Wilma Trewitt, Tim Hughes, Gail Sandberg and Dr. Alvin Sandberg," stated Mike Sandberg. A discount student clinic is also offered to the public by appointment to provide real life experience in the massage field. Students learn how to relive stress, lower blood pressure, relax and tone muscles and increase proper circulation.
Each future graduate is equipped with extensive knowledge and expertise through hands-on experience. Not only do the instructors provide excellent resources but they also are licensed massage therapists who currently work in the massage field. "To know what works in the real business world sets our students apart and ahead if the game in this business," noted Sandberg. "Our students are qualified to work in day spas, resorts, cruise ships, doctor and chiropractic offices, hospitals and beauty salons, health clubs or go on to open their own successful businesses." We are also a Veterans Administration Approved Institution.
Job placement assistance coupled with a very reasonable tuition of $3,600, easy payment options, and student loans make starting a new career easy and exciting.
