FDIC Transaction Account Guarantee Program Our institution has elected to participate in the FDIC’s Transaction Account Guarantee Program. Under that program, through December 31, 2010, all noninterest-bearing transaction accounts are fully guaranteed by the FDIC for the entire amount in the account. Coverage under the Transaction Account Guarantee Program is in addition to and separate from the coverage available under the FDIC’s general deposit insurance rules.

For the record, we are a “charter member” of the FDIC, having joined at the first opportunity in 1933. Over 97% of our loans are made in Sevier County. Sevier County Bank is one of the most highly capitalized banks in the country.

Toward that end we built a new 60,000 square foot headquarters in 2006, and in 2009 we constructed new branches in Seymour and Gatlinburg. We have been through all the economic ups and downs of the past 100 years and we know this one too shall pass. Certainly there will be hardships and probably some significant changes in national and world economy, but Sevier County has been resilient and we have even benefited at times in certain times of distress.
