Asperger's Disorder is a developmental disorder that can cause significant problems in many areas of a child's life including socialization, communication, behaviior and thinking.

Therapy for both children with AD and their families can improve social skills, self-regulation, empathy, thinking patterns and other areas that interfere with social and academic success.

Brenda Duarte, Licensed Professional Counselor is experienced and trained in counseling modalities that enhance the lives of children with Asperger's Disorder. She works closely with parents, collateral professionals involved in treatment, teachers and academic settings. Read Brenda's Daily Times article on Asperger's Disorder.

LifeLine Learning Center provides affordable, individualized tutoring, study skills classes and educational services for children with academic needs. LifeLine counselors sometimes use pet-assisted therapy with selected children and adults. Our loving, accepting dogs help people feel safe and comfortable talking about feelings and troubling situations in their lives. These very special animals have been an invaluable asset to our program. Pet-assisted therapy dogs do not participate in sessions where someone is uncomfortable with dogs or the dog's presence is not an aid to the therapeutic process.

Life's difficult challenges can be painful and overwhelming. LifeLine Counseling Center offers a safe, confidential place where barriers that interfere with joy, relationships and life can be addressed.

We put you at the center of a caring therapeutic relationship where you can feel free to explore feelings, examine life experiences and develop strategies for change.

LifeLine counselors are compassionate and spiritually grounded. They are highly trained, licensed professionals with advanced degrees providing assistance to adults, children, couples and families. Their collective experience includes teaching in graduate and undergraduate programs and service as directors and administrators of clinical programs.

LifeLine is a faith-based organization offering counseling and classes designed to enrich the lives of adults and children. We serve both the Christian community and those without a church affiliation.

Most insurance, bankcards and medical savings/flexible spending account cards are accepted. We offer daytime, evening and Saturday appointments.
