Thank you for your interest in Brown Fence Company Inc., a company that prides itself on providing quality fences to Chattanooga, Tennessee and its surrounding areas. Our company was established in the late 1880’s by T. Walter Brown. Our founder started by manufacturing iron picket fences and other iron and wire work for the public. His trade was as a Blacksmith where he primarily repaired rims on wagons. The company expanded into woven wire window guards and wire fencing; however, the main emphasis in those days was on Ornamental Iron Picket Fences and Gates.
Walter Brown brought his son, Henry, into the business and together they developed a caulking tool to replace welding used in the iron picket fence. This tool was patented and sold throughout the United States. Also, an automatic gate was developed and patented during the mid-twenties.
Over the years, Brown Fence Company Inc. evolved into many other facets of the fencing industry. Today, Brown Fence Company Inc. offers a wide range of fence, gate and gate operating products for both residential and commercial use. The company is still owned and operated by Walter’s grandson and his great grandson and still offers the same quality and service on which T. Walter Brown founded the company.
