Some websites will trick you into only having user entered listings from their small network of users (or worse, just that agent or office), while others will boast of a large quantity of listings neglecting to inform you that it's a national and not local number, and still others will only feature one of these two major services... but if you want COMPLETE results then it doesn't hurt you to find a site that features both for your Atlanta house hunting needs. Use a Realtor ® . Unless you're already a real estate professional it will usually benefit you in the long run to seek professional assistance whether that comes in the form of steering you away from a bad purchase, or negotiating a better price or some amenities as part of the deal. And no, I don't get paid to say (or type) that. Sure there are bad Realtors® out there... do find someone you're comfortable with... and do seek professional help.
Make sure your Realtor ® has their own website with the ability to search all area property listings on it (this is called IDX). If not then you know they're probably not up to par when it comes to technology. This translates to them probably not being as connected in finding properties from other sources, finding information about properties that you're interested in, and worse... not being able to market your property if you're also selling. Move along and find someone that is Internet savvy.
USE their website. If it's IDX enabled then it's got all of your local area's property listings on it. Save gas... save time... get an idea of the listings you want to see before hopping in your Realtor's ® car.
