Other attorneys often call upon us to screen their injury cases and determine their merits. In addition, when a patient is seriously injured during medical treatment, he or she frequently is left with unanswered questions; many injured patients call our office seeking answers to their questions. Frankly, many times either the doctor or nurse has not explained what happened to the patients satisfaction. Other times what happened is an unfortunate complication. But often enough, someone or some medical product or device has caused unexpected and uncalled for injury and we feel compelled to file suit to compensate the injured person. If you, or a loved one, have sustained serious injury and have questions similar to those listed below, we may be able to provide some answers for you.
Did my surgeon err in his handling of my operation?
Are the permanent side effects that I suffer caused by the drugs that were prescribed for me?
Why wasnt I told about the serious complications which the operation or treatment might cause?
Did a medical device malfunction cause me the harm I suffer?
We do not charge for telephone consultations. When you call, a nurse or other trained employee will interview you. A doctor/lawyer will then go over your facts and give you the information he has about your problem, either by letter or return phone call. Depending on the seriousness of the case, we may ask you to obtain the medical records or we may obtain medical releases from you and do it ourselves.
If your case is truly catastrophic and chances of success seem substantial, we will advance all costs of litigation. You will not pay us directly and the costs of your representation will be taken from any award or settlement. In some cases we ask that you contribute to the costs if possible. Such instances will be explained in advance and your ability to pay will be a factor.
Once suit has been filed, if you should change your mind and decide not to proceed with the lawsuit or if you discharge our firm without reasonable cause we will expect reimbursement of expenses within a reasonable period of time.
