Breast Center Now Open

Athens Regional Medi-cal Center opened the new Breast Center earlier this year. The Breast Center is designed specifically for women and offers digital mammography, breast ultrasound, stereotactic biopsies, bone densitometry and lab all under one roof. Read more about the Breast Center.

Hospitalist Joins ARMC Staff

Michael D. Murphy, MD, an internal medicine specialist, has joined the active medical staff at Athens Regional Medical Center as a hospitalist. The role of hospitalist is relatively new to the medical field and has caught on rapidly. The hospitalist provides inpatient care, keeping in close communication with the primary care physician.
